Eileen Howe Covington Fine Art

I am a local watercolor and oil painter who has lived in Charlotte for many years.  I had a studio at the Dilworth Artisan Station for 2 years and made many interesting and valuable connections while there.  I moved to my home studio in February 2023 while I am considering my next move. 

 I have been an artist my whole life, winning my first competition when I was 10 so making art has always been play for me. Coloring outside the lines, asking and seeing what will happen if I try this or that, allows me to stay childlike and wonder at a bumble bee drunk on the brilliant jasmine, see the colors in dark shadows against a brilliant sun and the way the light falls through the stained glass window creating a kaleidoscope across the floor. I have a BA in psychology from UNC-Charlotte and studied art there but I am largely self taught. I worked in the business world for many years while taking numerous classes and workshops from some of the best artists in North America.
